Mindset training that was focused on the shelter occupants where there were more occupants. The mindset training was to trigger change and positive attitude towards life of the occupants as this would be the beginning to a new changed life. These conversations help one recover from illness because we believe that we can do something about the illness through sharing our experiences and also interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures hence having perspective about different cultures and backgrounds that also enable us to cope and deal with our traumas.

The different perceptions in life often give us always hinder our ability to learn, grow and develop and with a positive mindset perspective tends to align. to positive to hence encouraging mindset trainings as a whole.

Arts and craft. Art is a tool used by the entire world to heal, make money and also as a hobby. Art for a long time has made us whole and heal from the traumas that have robed us of our joy. Art is therapeutic and the Hebwa program has used it to keep the occupants occupied and also helped fundraise for the different activities. Cushions, Jewelry’s butter, and T-Shirts have been made to help in the fundraising process.

Rearing animals. Over the course of the year rabbits, goats and chicken were bought for rearing at the shelter premises and this has also been a tool to keep the occupants occupied and to learn how to take care of the animals so as to be able to create or pick up the venture for their own business idea. This was also in light to create a sustainable venture for the shelter activities
